City of Vernonia government buildings and offices will be closed to the general public. This includes Vernonia City Hall, the Vernonia Public Library, Vernonia Public Works offices, the Vernonia Police Department lobby. The Vernonia City Council and management team will evaluate continued office closures on a weekly basis.
Vernonia citizens are encouraged to use the utility payment portal option for making utility billing payments. Payments may also be made over the phone by calling 503-429-5291, ext.101 during regular business hours.

Operate the food pantry in St. Helens. No changes other than a different intake process to protect volunteers and clients. Effective 03/25/2020 the pantry hours for St. Helens are Monday through Thursday from 9 am - 1 pm. This is to keep exposure for our volunteers and staff to a minimum. The warehouse will be closing at 1:30 pm each day.

We have also suspended home visits for our Head Start, Healthy Families, Weatherization, and Home Rehabilitation Programs.
All Staff will continue to work in order to provide as many services as possible using remote contact (phone, video-chat, etc.). Our current plan is to reopen on April 13th, but we will be reevaluating that decision on a continual basis between now and then.

Although our staff and attorneys are working from home during the COVID-19 crisis, we remain reachable by telephone.
